Pathways and choices.

Shelley is a Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architect. She is currently a non-executive director and Deputy Chair of the Suburban Land Agency (ACT), and an Advisory Board member at the Office of Projects Victoria and the CIT Woden Project Board in Canberra. In 2021, she was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) “for significant service to architecture and design in the public realm, and to professional institutes.”

Past roles include Chair National Capital Authority, National President Australian Institute of Architects, Board Member Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Director Infranexus Management Pty Ltd, Vice President Open House Melbourne and Deputy Chair Heritage Council of Victoria. Shelley was the inaugural Associate Victorian Government Architect, Design Director in the Office of the NSW Government Architect and more recently Special Advisor Point Nepean National Park Master Plan and Member of the Waterways of the West Ministerial Advisory Committee in Victoria.

An Adjunct Professor in Architecture Practice at Monash Art Design and Architecture, Monash University and Honorary Principal Fellow (Associate Professor) at the University of Melbourne, she has served as a periodic guest critic/reviewer for graduate and post-graduate architecture degrees at several universities and tutored in design and communications since her own graduation from the University of Melbourne.
